Personal Friday: My band, Bitter Foes (and my fiance), and The Friday Society book launch!

December 7, 2012 / 1 Comment / Uncategorized

So another thing you guys probably don’t know about me is that I’m really into singing. I took a bit of a break from it for awhile (six years?!), but it’s always sort of been with me.

We’re called Bitter Foes, obvs.
A couple of years ago, my fiance (then boyfriend) decided we should finally start a band – we’d been talking about it for ages; he’s a pretty talented songwriter, guitarist, singer, keyboardist…he’s basically an amazing musician all around.

We got together a couple of our other friends and this was the result:
Our awesome guitarist, drummer and bassist. My friends who came to the show had a discussion of which one was the hottest. Thoughts? =)

My fiance, Evan! =)

Yeah, that’s me.
We play indie rock stuff–mostly older songs from bands like Metric, Radiohead, and Low – and we also play some very classic stuff like Tom Petty’s American Girl, and David Bowie’s Tonight.

Interested in hearing us? We’re playing in January! I’ll send out another invite then, but for now, follow us!

This is the other exciting thing that’s happening: I’m going to The Friday Society book launch tonight!

The Friday Society is a book written by Adrienne Kress, who seems like one of the coolest authors ever. It’s getting huge buzz – I’m so excited for this book. Steampunk + kick-ass heroines + action. I love action-y YAs, and I can’t wait to read this. And, Canadian!

Are you going tonight? Let me know @mostlyyalit so I can come say hi! And look out for a recap next week!

  1. You just became the coolest blogger in the history and future of bloggers. You are in a band! I love to sing, and I would love to rock out with a band but I just don't have the guts. You, my dear, are an inspiration! And I have not yet, but intend to soon, read The Friday Society but I really wanna. I love kick-butt gals in YA.
