“Waiting On Wednesday” is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that book bloggers are eagerly anticipating.
This week’s WoW pick is one I’m super late-to-the-party with…
Author: Kiersten White
Publisher: HarperTeen
Expected publication date: February 19, 2013
Expected publication date: February 19, 2013
Fia was born with flawless instincts. Her first impulse, her gut feeling, is always exactly right. Her sister, Annie, is blind to the world around her—except when her mind is gripped by strange visions of the future.
Trapped in a school that uses girls with extraordinary powers as tools for corporate espionage, Annie and Fia are forced to choose over and over between using their abilities in twisted, unthinkable ways… or risking each other’s lives by refusing to obey.
In a stunning departure from her New York Times bestselling Paranormalcy trilogy, Kiersten White delivers a slick, edgy, heartstoppingly intense psychological thriller about two sisters determined to protect each other—no matter the cost.
Guys, I have heard so much about Kiersten White’s Paranormalcy series and how great it is, and I’ve been mourning the fact that I have never gotten to it, mostly because I’m really tired of faeries and shape-shifters and that other para stuff (no more vampires! PLEASE!).
And then I heard about this, which has a premise that I connect with a lot more–love the whole instinct thing, reminds me of Francine Pascal’s Fearless series, weirdly–and I was like, “Finally, I can get on the Kiersten White bandwagon!”
I recognize that I’m super late to the party on this, and that ARCs have been given out and all that, but please, HarperTeen or other book bloggers, will you take pity on me and share? Don’t make me wait until February!
Are you excited for Mind Games? What are you waiting for this Wednesday? Leave me a comment and I’ll stop by!

I feel your pain and I even like fairies and vampires. This sounds cool.
Great pick! I'm super excited for this title! I read Paranormalcy for the first time this year (though the book has been on my TBR for two years… eep!) and it was… okay. I mean if you're tired of the usual paranormal, it definitely introduces new things. The vamps and shape shifters aren't the base of the story. I'd say give it a try!
Here's what I'm waiting on this week!
I LOVE the eyes on the cover and this seems like an interesting book! Another addition to my already huge TBR. 😉
Thanks for sharing and thanks for stopping by my post earlier!

I have not read the Paranormalcy series yet either, but I have the eBook on my Kindle. After reading Mind Games, I plan to read that series ASAP. You really need to get your hands on a copy of this book. It was seriously amazing. Dark and gritty, heartbreaking. Teeth gritting, sit on the edge of your seat, hold onto your hat amazing. Every character is so distinctive. Mind Games is told in alternating POV's, between the sisters Fia and Annie, and there is no doubt which POV it is as soon as the chapter starts. No identifier needed. The story moves along quickly, but it isn't necessarily a fast-paced plot. It is more slow burn. I loved this book. I cannot wait for the second book in the series. Unfortunately, we have a long wait. The plus side is that it ended at a place that, while leaving you wanting more, it doesn't leave you fighting mad! Sorry for yet another rambling comment ):
