Giveaway + Review: The Accidentals by Sarina Bowen

Hi friends, I’m so, so excited to be reviewing The Accidentals by Sarina Bowen! As some of you know, I’m a huge fan of Sarina’s new adult work, so when I heard she was working on a YA book, I was basically over the moon. I first read The Accidentals a year ago, when I beta read it for Sarina. So I’m coming to this book with a very different perspective than usual. The first time I read it, it was longer, but good, enjoyable, somewhat angsty read. I’m happy to say that this time, The Accidentals is not only […]

Fireworks by Katie Cotugno | Review + Playlist

Review: Fireworks by Katie Cotugno Fireworks by Katie Cotugno features Olivia and Dana, best friends who live in small town Georgia in the 90s. Dana is poor, with a mother who drinks too much, and no prospects after high school. Meanwhile, Olivia has been dreaming of being famous her whole life. When the opportunity to audition for a new girl group by a famous producer comes up, Dana accompanies Olivia to Orlando – and ends up being picked as part of Daisy Chain as well. I’m a sucker for any kind of music story, especially ones where people have to […]

Waiting on Wednesday: Open Road Summer by Emery Lord

Waiting On Wednesday” is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that book bloggers are eagerly anticipating. This week’s WoW pick is one I’ve seen around the blogger circles all week: Open Road Summer Author: Emery Lord (website | twitter) Publisher: Walker Children’s Expected publication date: April 15th 2014  After breaking up with her bad-news boyfriend, Reagan O’Neill is ready to leave her rebellious ways behind. . . and her best friend, country superstar Lilah Montgomery, is nursing a broken heart of her own. Fortunately, Lilah’s 24-city tour is about to kick off, offering a perfect opportunity for a girls-only […]

Early Review: Time After Time by Tamara Ireland Stone

Time After Time (Time Between Us #2) Author: Tamara Ireland Stone (website | twitter) Publisher: Disney-Hyperion Source: eARC provided by publisher on Netgalley in exchange for an honest review Publication date: October 8, 2013 (tomorrow!) My rating: 4.25 out of 5 stars Calling Anna and Bennett’s romance long distance is an understatement: she’s from 1995 Chicago and he’s a time traveler from 2012 San Francisco. The two of them never should have met, but they did. They fell in love, even though they knew they shouldn’t. And they found a way to stay together, against all odds. It’s not a perfect arrangement, […]

Personal Friday: My band, Bitter Foes (and my fiance), and The Friday Society book launch!

So another thing you guys probably don’t know about me is that I’m really into singing. I took a bit of a break from it for awhile (six years?!), but it’s always sort of been with me. We’re called Bitter Foes, obvs.  A couple of years ago, my fiance (then boyfriend) decided we should finally start a band – we’d been talking about it for ages; he’s a pretty talented songwriter, guitarist, singer, keyboardist…he’s basically an amazing musician all around.  We got together a couple of our other friends and this was the result:  Our awesome guitarist, drummer and bassist. […]
