“Waiting On Wednesday” is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that book bloggers are eagerly anticipating.
This week’s pre-publication, “can’t-wait-to-read” book is a by an author I’ve never read:
From Goodreads:
From the outside, Coley Sterling’s life seems pretty normal . . . whatever that means. It’s not perfect—her best friend is seriously mad at her and her dance team captains keep giving her a hard time—but Coley’s adorable, sweet crush Reece helps distract her. Plus, she has a great family to fall back on—with a mom and stepdad who would stop at nothing to keep her siblings and her happy.
But Coley has a lot of secrets. She won’t admit—not even to herself—that her almost-perfect life is her own carefully-crafted façade. That for years she’s been burying the shame and guilt over a relationship that crossed the line. Now that Coley has the chance at her first real boyfriend, a decade’s worth of lies are on the verge of unraveling.
In this unforgettable powerhouse of a novel, Mindi Scott offers an absorbing, layered glimpse into the life of an everygirl living a nightmare that no one would suspect.
Live Through This sounds darker than I usually go with YA contemporary novels, but there’s something about the premise that really gets me. I read Mindi’s letter about why she wrote the book, and I was hooked. I’ve had her first novel, Freefall on my TBR list first ages, but I might go with this one first.
I haven't read anything by Mindi, but I've always loved dark contemporaries. And I've already so many amazing things about this book so I'm sure it won't disappoint! x)
Great pick! ^__^

Thank you for your lovely comment! (:
This book looks amazing, I've only read a few dark contemporaries, because usually they're quite depressing – but this look amazing. I can't wait to try it! ^.^ It's been added to my TBR list already. :3

I love this cover. This premise is exactly what I love reading in YA contemporary. The darker side is more appealing to me. Definitely on my wishlist.
This sounds really profound. I need more contemp books to read. Amazing cover as well. Thanks for sharing & for stopping by my post 🙂
