An irresistible story from Kasie West that explores the timeless question What do you do when you fall for the person you least expect?
When Autumn Collins finds herself accidentally locked in the library for an entire weekend, she doesn’t think things could get any worse. But that’s before she realizes that Dax Miller is locked in with her. Autumn doesn’t know much about Dax except that he’s trouble. Between the rumors about the fight he was in (and that brief stint in juvie that followed it) and his reputation as a loner, he’s not exactly the ideal person to be stuck with. Still, she just keeps reminding herself that it is only a matter of time before Jeff, her almost-boyfriend, realizes he left her in the library and comes to rescue her.
Only he doesn’t come. No one does.
Instead it becomes clear that Autumn is going to have to spend the next couple of days living off vending-machine food and making conversation with a boy who clearly wants nothing to do with her. Except there is more to Dax than meets the eye. As he and Autumn at first grudgingly, and then not so grudgingly, open up to each other, Autumn is struck by their surprising connection. But can their feelings for each other survive once the weekend is over and Autumn’s old life, and old love interest, threaten to pull her from Dax’s side?

This month’s book is By Your Side, which I’ve heard good things about from friends. It’s a contemporary YA, so you know this is totally my jam. Lisa mentioned in my note that it’s all about falling in love in a library, which I am SO here for.

The Accessory:

I adore this cute Sherlock key necklace with 221B written on it – I’m more of a casual fan of Sherlock, but I like that this has a literary theme without being in your face.

The Swag:

I am obsessed with Pride & Prejudice, and this Pride & Peppermint tea is just everything. I haven’t tried it yet, but I’ve heard amazing things about NovelTeaTins. Their teas are packaged in tins that look like books! SUPER excited to try this out.

The Every Time

As I mentioned in last month’s epic Uppercase Box post, Lisa always includes both a personalized note, which I love. I feel like I’m getting a package from a special friend.

In addition, there is always a bookmark that is part of the reading experience when you participate with Uppercase. You go to the website listed when you get to each page number, and type in the word code. There, you’ll find questions, polls, and videos that correspond to that moment in the book.

Shipping & Experience

I talked about the cost last time. For shipping, this month there was a little snafu where several of the Canadian boxes got shipped back to Uppercase. I wrote back to them and they immediately shipped me a new package, which took about a week.

The Final Word:

The Feb 2017 Uppercase Box was a great haul that included a brand-new contemporary that I never would have picked up on my own, but I’m excited to try. I loved the swag and accessory, and as I mentioned last time, I adored getting Lisa’s note and a special reading experience.

What do you think about Feb 2017’s Uppercase Box? If you watched my video, thoughts? Are you into subscription boxes? Have you read By Your Side yet or any other Kasie West books? Let me know in the comments!
