“Waiting On Wednesday” is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that book bloggers are eagerly anticipating.
This week’s pick is an adorable sounding contemp for summer:

Author: Angie Stanton (website | twitter)

Publisher: Harper Collins/HarperTeen

Expected publication date: May 6th 2014

Dragged on a family trip to Europe’s ancient cities, Becca wants nothing more than to go home. Trapped with her emotionally distant father, over-eager stepmother, and a brother who only wants to hook up with European hotties, Becca is miserable. That is until she meets Nikolai, a guy as mysterious as he is handsome. And she unknowingly finds herself with a runaway prince.

Nikolai has everything a guy could ask for-he’s crown prince, heir to the throne, and girls adore him. But the one thing he doesn’t have…is freedom. Staging a coup, he flees his kingdom and goes undercover on his own European tour.

When Nikolai and Becca meet, it’s their differences that draw them together. Sparks fly as they share a whirlwind of adventures, all the while dodging his royal guard. But Becca’s family vacation ends in a matter of days. Will Nikolai and Becca be forced to say goodbye forever, will his destiny catch up to him, or will they change history forever?

How do I love thee, concept of Royally Lost? Let me count the ways:

1) Travel – PLEASE. Any time a book has any travel, I’m there. I’m especially there when the book involved European travel
2) Royalty – I have a serious thing for modern royalty – I can never get enough of princes and princesses in books.
3) Romance – I *especially* have a thing for romance with royals. This book sounds like the written version of the movie The Prince & Me, which was one of my faves in college.

Julia Stiles says, “What girl doesn’t dream of having a prince pick her out of a crowd at a royal parade?”

4) That cover – seriously, I love the map, I love the girl’s skirt, I love how one word of the title is skewed…
Seriously, thank goodness I got an eARC, because I don’t think I can wait until May to get into this adorable sounding contemp.
Are you excited for ROYALLY LOST? Do you love summer travel books? How about books with royalty? What are you waiting for this week? Sound off in the comments!

  1. That sounds so cute! It's on my TBR now for sure. I don't know why, but I really enjoy romance stories about princes or celebrities in disguise – it's reminiscent of that movie, The Prince & Me, which I loved. Thanks for sharing!
