Hi guys, welcome to Day 6 of Morgan Matson Week! It’s the weekend, so today, I’m all about the fun – and what’s more fun than Morgan Matson x dogs? We all know that Morgan adores dogs. She has her own little mutt, Murphy (not to be confused with Second Chance Summer’s Murphy!), and as she’s continued to own him, we’ve seen everything from Instagram posts to videos of Murphy (is he not adorable, OMG ??). Nowhere is Morgan’s love of dogs more apparent than in her new book The Unexpected Everything. Andie, the main character, ends up taking a job […]

Dreamology by Lucy Keating | Review

Review: Dreamology by Lucy Keating Dreamology by Lucy Keating is an unusual, lushly romantic YA sci-fi novel that surprised me with its pitch perfect voice. I read the first 100 pages with a lot of breaks in between, and then the rest of it all in one fell swoop because I had to know what would happen. If you’re into sci-fi or fantasy YA, and you’re looking for a contemporary transition, this might be a good one for you. Alternately, if you’re into contemporary or romance and you’re looking for something a little bit more speculative, this would be a great […]

Mini-Reviews: Illustrated Fantasy, Dark Realities

Beautifully illustrated and executed, this latest (and possibly last?) installment of the Griffin & Sabine series really belongs somewhere within the third book of the trilogy, The Golden Mean. It is, as described, additional letters and correspondence between Griffin and Sabine as they try to make their way towards each other to Alexandria. For those who have not read the series, I think it will be a little difficult to follow this piece – it’s almost like an added novella to the series. That said, since the reading experience of these books is so delightful, I would go ahead and […]

When We Collided by Emery Lord | Book Review

Review: When We Collided by Emery Lord When We Collided is Emery Lord’s best book. I just have to lay this out there. It’s her tightest, most impassioned, most honest and raw piece of fiction, a book about a girl, Vivi, a seventeen year old who wants to live in the small moments in life and soak in all the beauty and fire of first love, but is hampered by her own mental health issues. Vivi and her mother move to a small California town for a summer and there, Vivi meets Jonah, a boy who is responsible for more […]

Hi guys, I’m excited to be part of the Canadian Blog Tour today for Firsts by Laurie Elizabeth Flynn! If you know my blog at all, you know that I have very strong thoughts about consent, feminism and sex positivity – and Firsts addresses all of that. It’s a read that I’m very glad exists. Read on for my thoughts, and then a Q&A with Laurie! *Very light spoilers here and there – if you haven’t read and like to know absolutely nothing, please don’t read!* *Also, I would probably say that this book is for age 14 & up – definite […]
