| Giveaway + Review | Stars Above by Marissa Meyer

Guys, I am SO excited to be able to give you this review of Stars Above by Marissa Meyer. Last week, I got the most amazing news: Fierce Reads and Raincoast Books (distributor of tons of amazing books in Canada, including Macmillan titles) were sending me a bound galley copy of STARS ABOVE! To say I was excited is a complete understatement. There was much screaming and dancing around in my house because I really, REALLY needed a few extra chapters at the end of Winter. I needed to make sure my babies were still okay =P In addition, Fierce Reads […]

Firsts by Laurie Elizabeth Flynn | Review + Interview + Blog Tour

Hi guys, I’m excited to be part of the Canadian Blog Tour today for Firsts by Laurie Elizabeth Flynn! If you know my blog at all, you know that I have very strong thoughts about consent, feminism and sex positivity – and Firsts addresses all of that. It’s a read that I’m very glad exists. Read on for my thoughts, and then a Q&A with Laurie! *Very light spoilers here and there – if you haven’t read and like to know absolutely nothing, please don’t read!* *Also, I would probably say that this book is for age 14 & up – definite […]

Waiting on Wednesday: You Know Me Well by Nina Lacour & David Levithan

Waiting on Wednesday: You Know Me Well by Nina Lacour & David Levithan

I am SO on this book. Nina Lacour & David Levithan? YES. Two gay teens coming together on one night to figure out their lives? SO YES. Will they fall in love with each other or just help each other with their own issues? Will they take leaps of faith in one night? Will the narrative take place in more than one night? I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS. And so many heart eyes. JUST GIVE ME THE BOOK. Is You Know Me Well on your To Be Read List? What are you waiting for this week? Let me know and I’ll stop […]

2015 Fierce Reads Tour: Recap!

2015 Fierce Reads Tour: Recap!

Sometimes, you go to book events, and they’re good. And then sometimes, like today, they’re great. For the final stop on the Fierce Reads Fall 2015 tour, Leigh Bardugo, Josephine Angelini, Emma Mills, and Leila Sales came up to Toronto to chat about their new books, gush about each other (seriously, they all LOVE each others’ books), and do a signing. After a great lunch with Wendy (A Cupcake and a Latte) , we headed over to Indigo Yonge-Eglinton about two hours before the event. With four authors there, we knew we had to get in early to get seats! Giselle […]

#TopTenTuesday: My Fall 2015 To-Be-Read List!

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday is posted on Instagram, and it’s my Fall 2015 to be read list. It’s actually a crapload longer than this, but these are the highlights, in no particularly order. 1. When We Collided by Emery Lord (pub date: April 5, 2016): I got this ARC a few weeks ago from Bloomsbury (thank you!), and it’s absolutely at the top of Mount TBR because EMERY. 2. Tonight the Streets Are Ours by Leila Sales (pub date: Sept 15, 2015): my most anticipated fall read about one crazy night and bloggers. I’m holding back on reading this for […]

#WaitingonWednesday: The Square Root of Summer by Harriet Reuter Hapgood

#WaitingonWednesday: The Square Root of Summer by Harriet Reuter Hapgood

I heard about The Square Root of Summer awhile back while perusing catalogues for Spring 2016 (that font treatment is perfection!), but it wasn’t until last weekend’s Raincoast Books Teen Preview that I got super excited. Physics and time travel in books is one of my auto-buy triggers, and the fact that the author wrote a thesis on Dawson’s Creek basically sold me on her forever. Is The Square Root of Summer on your TBR? Are you obsessed with science in your books, too? What are you waiting for this week? Let me know and I’ll stop by! Want to win a Sept […]

“They Don’t Know About Us”: The Heartbreakers by Ali Novak

Stella and her twins Cara and Drew have been through a lot together – Cara has non-Hodgkins lymphoma and has been in and out of the hospital as a teen. Now, with their eighteeth birthday coming up, Drew and Stella concoct a scheme to get her signed memorabilia from the world’s biggest boy band, the Heartbreakers – and Stella’s worst nightmare. A bunch of coincidences throw them together with the band for a night, where they have an amazing time together, especially Stella and lead singer Oliver. When an opportunity comes up for Stella to work with the band again, […]

Waiting on Wednesday: First & Then by Emma Mills

Waiting on Wednesday: First & Then by Emma Mills

First & Then Author: Emma Mills Publisher: Henry Holt and Co. (BYR) Expected publication: October 13th 2015 Devon Tennyson wouldn’t change a thing. She’s happy watching Friday night games from the bleachers, silently crushing on best friend Cas, and blissfully ignoring the future after high school. But the universe has other plans. It delivers Devon’s cousin Foster, an unrepentant social outlier with a surprising talent for football, and the obnoxiously superior and maddeningly attractive star running back, Ezra, right where she doesn’t want them first into her P.E. class and then into every other aspect of her life. Pride and Prejudice […]
