Hi guys, I’m delighted to be part of the Canadian blog tour for THE NAMES THEY GAVE US by Emery Lord. As some of you know, Emery is one of my all-time favorite, auto-buy authors. I love her so much that I hosted a week-long celebration of her work a few years ago! For this blog tour, I got to ask Emery one question, and I’ve also got a review of this wonderful book. Two Books About Trauma and Its Aftermath

Hi guys, today I have nice, light-hearted reviews for you, perfect for sum–I’m just kidding. And I probably shouldn’t kid about this. Today I’m reviewing All We Have Left by Wendy Mills and 738 Days by Stacey Kade. These are two very different books about trauma and that deal with grief in different situations and circumstances. They’re not super easy to read, but they’re both pretty good and portray trauma with honesty and compassion. Read on for my thoughts. Two Books About Trauma and Its Aftermath A moving portrayal of the before and after of 9/11 and how it affects […]

Tonight the Streets Are Ours by Leila Sales (pub date: Sept 15, 2015): my most anticipated fall read about one crazy night and bloggers. I’m holding back on reading this for […]

The Start of Em and You – a celebration of Emery Lord!

Hi all, I’m so excited to be hosting The Start of Em and You – Mostly YA Lit’s weeklong celebration of Emery Lord’s work! I’ll be honest, I started this week as a way to motivate myself to finally write my reviews of Emery’s work – I adore her writing, and I feel a little unworthy of even reviewing it. So, I thought, what better way than create a spotlight that celebrates Emery’s books, and her devotion to summer, friendship, and love? I can’t tell you how excited I was when Bloomsbury, Penguin Canada, and Emery herself wanted to get involved. […]
