From an impressive sisterhood of YA writers comes an edge-of-your-seat anthology of historical fiction and fantasy featuring a diverse array of daring heroines.
Crisscross America — on dogsleds and ships, stagecoaches and trains — from pirate ships off the coast of the Carolinas to the peace, love, and protests of 1960s Chicago. Join fifteen of today’s most talented writers of young adult literature on a thrill ride through history with American girls charting their own course. They are monsters and mediums, bodyguards and barkeeps, screenwriters and schoolteachers, heiresses and hobos. They're making their own way in often-hostile lands, using every weapon in their arsenals, facing down murderers and marriage proposals. And they all have a story to tell. With stories by: J. Anderson Coats Andrea Cremer Y. S. Lee Katherine Longshore Marie Lu Kekla Magoon Marissa Meyer Saundra Mitchell Beth Revis Caroline Richmond Lindsay Smith Jessica Spotswood Robin Talley Leslye Walton Elizabeth Wein

I am so late with the WoW, but I just heard about it, and I’m in love. YA stories that talk about bad-ass women on the fringes throughout history? Seriously, sign me up!

I’ll be honest, I’ve only ever read Elizabeth Wein, Leslye Walton, and Marissa Meyer from this enormous list of authors, but I love them and I BELIEVE.

Is A TYRANNY OF PETTICOATS on your TBR? What are you waiting for this week? Let me know and I’ll stop by!

  1. I don’t read many anthologies but I’d love to get into them more. Frankly, an anthology about kickass women throughout history sounds like the perfect way to accomplish that goal! I’m with you, this book sounds wonderful^^ I’ve only read Meyers out of the bunch though, so don’t feel too bad XD

I am dying for this one too! I can’t believe all the awesome authors in this anthology. I’m not usually a big fan of short stories but I’ll make an exception for this one!

  4. I’ve been waiting for this book for month! I love books that feature strong women and this one seems to be completely up my alley. Also, some of my fav authors wrote short stories for this.
