Six months ago, Ashlyn Montiel died in a bike accident.
Her best friend CLOUDY is keeping it together, at least on the outside. Cloudy’s insides are a different story: tangled, confused, heartbroken.
KYLE is falling apart, and everyone can tell. Ashlyn was his girlfriend, and when she died, a part of him went with her. Maybe the only part he cared about.
As the two people who loved Ashlyn best, Cloudy and Kyle should be able to lean on each other. But after a terrible mistake last year, they’re barely speaking. So when Cloudy discovers that Ashlyn’s organs were donated after her death and the Montiel family has been in touch with three of the recipients, she does something a little bit crazy and a lot out of character: she steals the letters and convinces Kyle to go on a road trip with her, from Oregon to California to Arizona to Nevada. Maybe if they meet the recipients—the people whose lives were saved by Ashlyn’s death—the world will open up again. Or maybe it will be a huge mistake.
With hundreds of miles in front of them, a stowaway kitten, and a list of people who are alive because of Ashlyn, Cloudy and Kyle just may find their way back to her . . . and to each other.
Last week, Vilma from Vilma’s Book Blog posted the cover to The Way Back to You, a gorgeous upcoming YA contemp by Michelle Andreani and Mindi Scott and I fell in love.
Then I read the synopsis and fell in love even more. I haven’t read anything by these two authors, but road trip, friendship-to-possible-romance, a quest, self-discovery after mourning…this book hits so many of my YA-need-it-now buttons.
May 2016…you are killing it with the upcoming releases.
Are you waiting to read The Way Back to You? What are the phrases or concepts that hit your YA-need-it-now buttons? What are you waiting for this week?

Okay, wow … this sounds freaking amazing! I haven’t heard of it before but the cover AND the synopsis both intrigued me so much that I just NEED THIS BOOK NOOOOW! Definitely adding this to my TBR list, thanks for sharing!
Oh wow! Yes, the cover is awesome! But that blurb, just wow. I can already tell this is going to give me the feels. A person who died but is able to save others. A road trip. Gimme gimme. Indeed, May 2016 is too far! Awesome pick 🙂
Happy Wednesday!
I’m not much of a contemporary reader, but I hope you’re able to get ahold of this soon! Check out my pick in the link below!
Oh this sounds/looks amazing and heartfelt. I just saw the cover release the other day. I love it – very different than a lot of books out today in YA. GREAT Pick!!!!
