“Waiting On Wednesday” is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that book bloggers are eagerly anticipating.
This week’s WoW pick is a bit of an unexpected one for me:
Publisher: Scholastic Press
Expected publication date: September 17th 2013
The second installment in the all-new series from the masterful, #1 NEW YORK TIMES bestselling author Maggie Stiefvater!

Now that the ley lines around Cabeswater have been woken, nothing for Ronan, Gansey, Blue, and Adam will be the same. Ronan, for one, is falling more and more deeply into his dreams, and his dreams are intruding more and more into waking life. Meanwhile, some very sinister people are looking for some of the same pieces of the Cabeswater puzzle that Gansey is after…

So some of you know that I run the Forever Young Adult Book Club here in Toronto. This month’s pick was The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater, which I was excited to read, but totally unsure of – not really in my wheelhouse at all. And I was completely, totally, surprised. I really loved it – the story was unlike anything I’d ever read, and the writing was fantastic (I’ll have my review up next week!).

The Raven Boys is part of a four book series, so I definitely want to pick up The Dream Thieves when it comes out. The great thing about waiting for book two, though,  is that I don’t feel a DESPERATE need for it. I’m not dying of wait, which is…refreshing. But yeah, I still definitely need to read the rest of this beautifully written, epic-questy series.

Have you read The Raven Boys? Did you love it? Are you waiting impatiently to find out what the heck is up with Ronan? If not, what are you waiting for this week? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Not as great of a cover as The Raven Boys cover, but I like it. I like that you can tell immediately that it belongs with book 1 though. Always a plus. I haven't read The Raven Boys yet, but it is on my shelf an it is one that I am very excited for. Hopefully I will love it, and be so excited about book 2!
