I can’t believe it, but we’re at the end of Mostly YA Lit’s Unexpectedly Epic Morgan Matson Week!
This week has been a whirlwind of tweets, reviews, interviews, essays, giveaways, and more. It started out with my extreme passion for Morgan’s work, but I’m so glad to have been able to engage fans and new friends with all kinds of posts. I am floored by everyone’s enthusiasm for this week; it’s just been a joy to share our love for Morgan in this special way. So thank you if you’ve stopped by or checked in on Morgan Matson Week. I hope you’ve enjoyed it!

A project like this, done completely online, doesn’t happen without a lot of support and commitment from others. So if you’ll indulge me, I’d like to say a few thank yous to the people who really made this happen:
Firstly, I want to thank Jackie at Simon and Schuster Canada and Chelsea at Riveted Lit – thank you for championing Morgan Matson Week to S&S and offer such fabulous prizes for giveaway – I so appreciate your support and spreading of bookish fun!
Secondly, to the wonderful bloggers and readers who participated in the dare challenge: THANK YOU! You guys, I am SO happy that this actually worked out. Morgan Matson books are all about taking risks and acting rather than overthinking. I’ve loved reading the stories of you stretching yourselves in different ways.
If you haven’t checked out the Linky and all the fun dares people did, allow me to highlight a few for you:
Wendy @ Book Scents tried out some new Indian food!
Alexa @ Alexa Loves Books left notes in her favorite books at a bookstore!
Pretty epic, right? There’s more below – the Linky is still going, I think there will be a few more dares in the next week, so keep checking back. And thank you SO MUCH to the darers – I hope this was fun and different for you!
The Unexpectedly Epic Morgan Matson Week Dare Challenge!
Thirdly, to the incredible people who wrote pieces for this week, I absolutely can’t thank you enough. You added so much variety and colour to this week, along with perspectives I hadn’t even thought of. Like Morgan’s books themselves, I think there’s something for everyone here, and that’s definitely in large part because of you writers. If you haven’t read all the posts, please check them out below! And extra special thanks to the lovely Gaby @ Let’s Gab About Books for providing mini-The Unexpected Everything book necklaces for giveaway (they are so cute, you guys – US readers, go sign up to win!).
Finally, I want to say a big, big THANK YOU to Morgan Matson herself, who not only agreed to this project, but has been such an organized, fun and generous author to work with. Morgan, you are definitely a hybrid of every good part of Amy, Taylor, Emily and Andie. Thank you for inspiring us all with your honest protagonists, your ? book boyfriends, your girl friendships, your love of summer, and your wisdom. I really can’t come up with a better way to thank you than to say this: I’m writing this post at my BFF‘s place, with my best friend’s kids (who call me Auntie), and other friends and family around me. I needed to see her today after all the emotion of the last week. And even though I said I should probably go home to finish this, my BFF and her husband said, “Nope, we’ll give you a laptop, and you can do it here because we need to hang out while the kids are asleep and while we can.” It’s that kind of friendship that keeps me going, and your books inspire that same feeling of friendship, intimacy, generosity and understanding for me.
Thank you.
