If you’ve been in the YA world for awhile, you know that E. Lockhart writes fierce femmes who aren’t afraid to assert their authority over men.

Ms. Lockhart takes her time with her YA books, only publishing every few years. And the books are usually short. But they are packed with perfect diction, brilliant prose, and twists and turns that slay you.
In my opinion, it is very, very hard to write a believable, actual “holy crap” suspense novel. And it’s even harder to sell it in the young adult genre, which already sees contemporary books as a second sister to fantasy.
No one is writing what E. Lockhart writes. And that’s because no one can do it better than she can.
Am I waiting impatiently for Genuine Fraud? Hell yeah, I am.
