Review: The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

The Fault in Our Stars Author: John Green Publisher: Dutton Books Format: Hardcover, 313 pages Source: Belated birthday present from my soon-to-be sister/brother-in-law My rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars Goodreads synopsis: Diagnosed with Stage IV thyroid cancer at 13, Hazel was prepared to die until, at 14, a medical miracle shrunk the tumours in her lungs… for now. Two years post-miracle, sixteen-year-old Hazel is post-everything else, too; post-high school, post-friends and post-normalcy. And even though she could live for a long time (whatever that means), Hazel lives tethered to an oxygen tank, the tumours tenuously kept at bay with a […]

Hi everyone, today’s list was one I was waiting for: my favourite book “boyfriends” of this year. As you all know, I’m a huge fan of YA romance, so I was really excited to share my list.  This year, though, I was a bit lacking in 2012 reads, and I didn’t love the boy characters in every book I read. Therefore, I’m cutting my list down to eight, and presenting you with my tightly curated list of swoonworthy boys this year.  Also, I have a huge, paranormal YA at the end of this post, so read on! Top Ten of 2012: Best Characters of 2012

Hi everyone, today’s list is my favourite characters from 2012 releases. This includes heroes, heroines, villains, contemporary, whatever. My criteria for this list is basically who I found most interesting this year psychologically… 10. Sunya from My Sister Lives on the Mantelpiece (Annabel Pitcher) – I have a thing about evil genius kids, and Sunya is one of the best. She’s a true star, an awesome kid who sees the best in protagonist Jamie, and makes the best of a terrible bullying situation.  9. Hannah from Bunheads (Sophie Flack) – I basically love Hannah because I love Bunheads – she […]

Here are my top 10 book covers of 2012. Keep in mind that I may not have read all of these novels, but  these are books that fulfill my […]
