Hi all, I’m so excited to be hosting The Start of Em and You – Mostly YA Lit’s weeklong celebration of Emery Lord’s work!
I’ll be honest, I started this week as a way to motivate myself to finally write my reviews of Emery’s work – I adore her writing, and I feel a little unworthy of even reviewing it. So, I thought, what better way than create a spotlight that celebrates Emery’s books, and her devotion to summer, friendship, and love?
I can’t tell you how excited I was when Bloomsbury, Penguin Canada, and Emery herself wanted to get involved.
Throughout the week, you’ll hear from me and other readers who absolutely love Em’s writing, and what it has meant to us. I’ll also have tons of giveaways and contests, guest posts, and other fun things. I hope you’ll join me in celebrating an author who, to me, exemplifies everything I want to see in YA: real, raw emotion; swoonworthy romance; true feminism; wonderful female friendships; and facing your fears.
Here’s what’s happening this week; check back each day for new giveaways and posts!
Monday, July 27 – Intro and Lessons from Paige: The Start of Me and You
Tuesday, July 28 – Readers and Bloggers Talk: What Do Summer, Friendship and Emery Lord Mean To You?
Wednesday, July 29 – Open Road Summer: Why It Ain’t Slut-Shaming
Thursday, July 30 – Guest Post: Five Reasons To Add When We Collided To Your TBR by Ginger from GReads!

Busy yet exciting week for you 🙂 I’ve read The Start of Me and You by Emery Lord last summer and it’s super cute and awesome. And then suddenly she now became my fave author! :’) I’m excited for When We Collided in 2016!!! BTW, your blog theme and posts are wonderful!!! 🙂
[…] for her next release, When We Collided, is unmatched. All that said, I loved Mostly YA Lit’s week of posts dedicated to Emery Lord. You can catch my own contribution, as well as other bloggers’ thoughts, […]
Though I missed most of the fun, I’m glad to have tuned in now! I’ll be on the look-out for more events like this one ….
I expected this to be more of a love story, but while the romance was certainly there I thought The Start of Me and You was much more of a coming-of-age story in a sense. I balled my eyes out at the ending because that’s exactly how I wanted it to end – with happily ever after.
